Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQ)

WTF?

DuelDog is a contest platform for your favorite video games, especially if that's Counter Strike GO. You can join tournaments, play on demand, and challenge other users all for real cash and prizes. DuelDog manages the gaming experience and the payment processing so matches start right away and you can cash out right away. Don't waste time with escrow sites or match making sites. Throw down. Have fun. Cash out.

How do I play?

You need Discord - that's how we start games - and Steam (obviously) with at least 100 hours of play.

Go to the account registration page and create a DuelDog player account. You get to play for free: we give you bonus bones that the system uses automatically for challenges and contest entry fees. Later you can fund your account make withdrawals.

Is it legal?

Yup. DuelDog is not gambling. We operate skill based contests which are legal in almost all US states. The system checks what state you are playing in (not where you live) to make sure that all laws are followed.

You must be 18 years or older to play.

Registration is quick and easy - most of the time. None of your personal information is stored by DuelDog and none of your personal information is used for anything other than providing the service. We comply with banking anti-fraud laws and the game of skill laws so we need to verify you are a specific, real person. Your personal information is only used by DuelDog to provide the service.

DuelDog can be played in the US and Canada except in Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, and Tennessee.

Can I have more than one account?

Nope. We are a real identity system because we comply with banking anti-fraud laws and the game of skill laws so we need to verify you are a specific, real person. Registering multiple accounts is a violation of our Terms of Service.

How do I deposit?

Go to the account management page and follow the prompts. It's harder than you think to get payment processors to provide service (thanks for nothing, PayPal) so payment processors come and go. We are always working to expand the options available.

We do not store any banking information at DuelDog. Any information needed to verify your identity or move money is handled by our payment processor and used only for that purpose.

How do I withdraw?

You can withdraw money you deposit or cash prizes you win. (Promotional credits called bones cannot be withdrawn. They can only be used to challenge and to enter contests.)

Withdrawals are verified and typically take a day or two to hit the payment processor. Transaction times from them range from same day to a few days depending on what method you chose.

What about cheaters?

We take anti-cheat seriously. Any suspected cheating will result in account suspension, review, and may result in a lifetime ban.

DuelDog uses proprietary anti-cheat system that monitors server side game play for suspicious activity.

Since DuelDog is a real identity system, both accounts and people get banned if they cheat.

Cheating to win money is a form of fraud and will be referred to law enforcement.

What if I or my opponent disconnects? How does DuelDog handle disputes?

Every user is responsible for their own internet connection and game stability. If a user disconnects and cannot reconnect to the server that user will likely forfeit the match and funds. As per our Terms of Service, DuelDog has the final say on all disputes and matches. Users have 24 hours from start time to dispute a match or else dispute is void.

How does the skill ranking system work?

DuelDog uses a Glicko2 Elo model. New users start with rating of 1,000 and gain or lose points based on wins and losses. The more you play, the smarter the skill ranking gets.

Are you affiliated with any of the games on the platform?

DuelDog is not affiliated with the owners of the games hosted on the platform.
